Ali is a co-founder and principal at SCTY, a design consultancy based in NYC, working at the intersection of Business x Culture x Technology.Holding a variety of design leadership positions Ali has worked at Deloitte Digital, Rockwell Group, XIX Entertainment, Chaotic Moon (acquired by Accenture), Razorfish, Ogilvy & Mather's Brand Integration Group and Honest Dollar (acquired by Goldman Sachs).Pursuing a media agnostic approach that focuses on brand, design systems and strategic innovations, Ali has worked with: Disney, IBM, John Deere, Pizza Hut, Honda, Nobu, McDonald's, State Auto, David Yurman and Victoria Beckham.Ali concepted and prototyped a first-of-its-kind Interactive Print Ad using conductive ink for the December issue of WIRED—one of PSFK's Most Innovative Ad Campaigns of 2013. And subsequently lead development of Moto Match, an innovative interactive kiosk, for the launch of the Moto X phone from Google Motorola at NY Fashion Week. Previously his work helped elevate Samsung Mobile USA to Mashable’s Breakthrough Brand of the Year and Ad Age’s Viral Brand of the Year. For SXSW Interactive 2015 Ali launched a handful of innovative products and services: Fitcoin, the world's first blochain fitness tracker; Tyrone Drone, an unmanned aerial vandal; Orchard, a 20' huggable interactive tree.Ali has lead seminal rebrands for The Coca-Cola Company Happiness in a Bottle at Ogilvy & Mather's Brand Integration Group and AT&T Rethink Possible at Interbrand.In addition, Ali has held various teaching appointments: Pratt Institute, Visiting Associate Professor; University of Texas at Austin, Design Scholar in Residence and Distinguished Senior Critic; Cooper Union, Visiting Artist; holding workshops and lectures from Hollywood, CA to Seoul, South Korea.An occasional writer on design and design theory, Ali is published in Graphic Design: A New History, Graphic Design Referenced, Design Institute, How Magazine and Étapes, et al. Some of his writing is available on Medium.Ali earned his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and was the first graduate in New Media Design from Rochester Institute of Technology.
